We recommend that you store your cap somewhere dry placed peak side down. For longer periods of storage, we recommend keeping your wool cap in a hat box including some form of moth-repellent. We recommend against brushing your hat as this can cause pilling of the wool fabric. A soft cloth can be used to gently remove any dust or minor particles from the fabric. We advise against allowing your wool cap to become wet as the fabric may be vulnerable to shrinkage. For more advanced cleaning needs we recommend dry-cleaning only or contacting your hatters for more in-depth advice and refurbishment services.

When measuring for a Herbert Johnson hat, please place string or tape around your head above your ear and across the mid forehead, completely circling your head. Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly. Measure your head exactly where you want the hat to sit. It may help to either do this in the mirror or have someone to help for accuracy. Measure in centimetres. If your measurement falls between sizes, round up to the nearest half centimetre and/or email your exact measurement to our team and they will be happy to advise you.

Due to the exclusive nature of our products we do not stock large quantities. If made to order this product will take approximately up to 6 months to be handcrafted by our specialist Herbert Johnson hatting team. If the product is in stock delivery time from date of dispatch is dependent on location; typically 2-4 working days for UK orders and 3-5 working days for overseas orders (depending on customs clearance and location).

Unless otherwise agreed, for sales made and delivered to customers outside the United Kingdom, the price is invoiced exclusive of tax and VAT, customs duties and any other taxes applicable to the products in the country of delivery will be payable by the customer and may be claimed on delivery.
