Care

We recommend that you store your cap somewhere dry placed peak side down. For longer periods of storage keep your leather cap in a hat box including some form of moth-repellent. A soft cloth can be used to gently remove any dust or minor particles from the leather.

Keep your leather cap dry. Should it become wet we recommend you dry it as soon as possible to avoid the leather absorbing the water. To dry your leather cap remove any surface water with a soft cloth, then leave the cap to dry naturally in a well ventilated space; avoid placing the hat by heat sources such as a radiator as this will cause the leather to dry and crack.

Did you know

The Gatsby cap, a classic from the 1940s, reflects an era of significant change. During World War II, fashion shifted from aristocratic influence to a more relaxed and practical approach, driven by rationing and societal shifts.

The rise of cinema popularised softer hat shapes, but in Britain’s unpredictable weather, the cap became the practical choice for all. Emerging from this period, the Gatsby cap was embraced by both the fashionable elite and the everyday worker.Today, the Gatsby cap is remembered as the style worn by Michael Delaney (Steve McQueen) in the 1970s movie Le Mans.
