Details

  • Material: Lightweight single-layer black rabbit fur felt
  • Design: Pressed into a shape reminiscent of vintage equestrian helmets
  • Interior: Unlined for a minimalist and lightweight feel, with a soft finish for comfort against the head
  • Purpose: Fashion accessory only; not suitable for protective use and does not comply with equestrian safety standards

Use a soft-bristled brush to gently remove dust and dirt. Spot clean with a damp cloth if necessary, avoiding excessive moisture.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and maintain the hat’s shape. Consider using a hat box for added protection.

Avoid handling the hat by the crown to preserve its shape. Instead, hold it by the brim when putting it on or taking it off.

While rabbit fur felt offers some resistance to light moisture, prolonged exposure to water can damage the material. If wet, allow the hat to air dry naturally. Never use heat sources to dry

Size & Fit

When measuring for a Herbert Johnson hat, please place string or tape around your head above your ear and across the mid forehead, completely circling your head. Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly. Measure your head exactly where you want the hat to sit. It may help to either do this in the mirror or have someone to help for accuracy. Measure in centimetres. If your measurement falls between sizes, round up to the nearest half centimetre and/or email your exact measurement to our team and they will be happy to advise you. For more information please email enquiries-hj@herbert-johnson.co.uk.

A professional measuring service is also available at our Swaine stores on New Bond Street and at the Burlington Arcade.
