Care

To care for your ebony and silver shoe horn, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth after use, using a lightly damp cloth for occasional cleaning and drying immediately.

Keep it stored in a dry place, away from direct sunlight or humidity, to prevent the wood from drying out and the silver from tarnishing.

Condition the ebony occasionally with a small amount of natural oil or beeswax to preserve its luster, and polish the silver gently with a soft silver cloth to maintain its shine. Avoid bending or forcing the shoehorn.

Did you know

Between 1563 and 1566, Queen Elizabeth I of England purchased 18 shoehorns, followed by four more made of steel in 1567, which stands as one of the earliest notable records of their use. The shoehorn takes its name from the material it was originally made from, animal horn.
