Care

To maintain both the leather and the metal. Keep the leather supple by wiping it clean with a soft, dry cloth after use and occasionally conditioning it with a high-quality leather balm to prevent drying or cracking.

Avoid exposing it to excessive moisture, direct sunlight, or extreme temperatures, as these can damage the leather. For the sterling silver cuff, gently polish it with a silver cloth to remove tarnish, taking care not to let polishing compounds touch the leather.

Store the whip in a cool, dry place, ideally hanging or laid flat, to preserve its shape and craftsmanship.

Dressage originated as an ancient battlefield technique, where cavalry soldiers used their horses’ manoeuvrability to gain an advantage in combat. Over time, it evolved into an art form of precision and grace, eventually becoming an Olympic sport in 1912.
