Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent if needed. Avoid soaking or machine washing, as this may damage the wool fibers and structured shape. If your cap becomes damp, reshape it gently and allow it to air dry naturally—never use direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading. Keep it in a hat box or on a flat surface to maintain its shape. Handle with clean, dry hands to avoid transferring oils or dirt to the fabric.

When measuring for a Herbert Johnson hat, please place string or tape around your head above your ear and across the mid forehead, completely circling your head. Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly. Measure your head exactly where you want the hat to sit. It may help to either do this in the mirror or have someone to help for accuracy. Measure in centimetres. If your measurement falls between sizes, round up to the nearest half centimetre and/or email your exact measurement to our team and they will be happy to advise you.
