Ostrich leather is celebrated for its supple texture, distinctive quill pattern, and natural resilience, and with the right care it will last for many years.
If exposed to rain, gently blot the surface with a soft cloth and allow it to dry naturally away from heat or sunlight. Because the leather contains natural oils, it rarely requires heavy conditioning, though a small amount of specialist cream may be used sparingly if it appears dry.
To preserve its colour and suppleness, avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and always store the item in its dust bag, taking care not to press it under heavier objects that could flatten the natural quills.
Over time, the leather will soften and develop a rich patina, with each piece growing more individual in character.
